An American Success Story
JR United has a long and proud history dating back to the 1960s. Julio Reinerman (J.R.) Grosfeld, a Cuban Jew who immigrated to the United States and worked as a traveling bedspread salesman, saw an opportunity to become his own boss. He founded JR United in 1967, and soon added his older brother, Jaime, to the organization. Together, they created the first sheet sets sold in the United States. As the company grew, Julio expanded it nationwide.

When Julio’s son, Salo, joined the company as president after graduating from the University of Miami in 1982, they began manufacturing linens through joint ventures in South America – a first for consumer (home) textiles.
The company has been associated with leading consumer brands and national retailers, such as Martha Stewart, IZOD, Perry Ellis, Sure Fit, and The Beach People.
In 2012, JR United began supplying linens to the hospitality industry, including leading hotel chains such as Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, and Waldorf Astoria, as well as many independent hotels.
Today, JR United continues to lead the industry with new innovations such as sustainable materials and practices, digital technologies like RFID tracking for inventory, and value-added services. We are also expanding our customer focus beyond Florida and the Caribbean to serve the U.S. Northeast corridor, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and international hospitality centers.
