J.R. United's History

J.R. United's History

In 1959, Fidel Castro overthrew Fulgencio Baptista, causing many Cubans to flee their country. Julio Grosfeld, a 20-year-old Cuban Jew, was one of those affected by this terrible displacement. Luckily he was able to make it to the United States and find a Job as a cabby. He drove his cab in order to make enough money to bring his wife Raquel and son Salo to join him. After a grueling 6 months without his family, Julio was finally able to afford passage for his family to the U.S.
